A top Sudanese government official signaled yesterday that the 4th Infantry Division in Damazin will deploy “towards Wad Madani,” a move aimed at stabilizing the army’s new frontline in Sennar State and eventually launching a counter-offensive.
Based in the capital of Sudan’s southeastern Blue Nile State, which borders Ethiopia, the 4th Infantry Division is about 220 km from the nearest frontline in Sennar City.
