Videos shed new light on atrocities in El Geneina

The Governor of West Darfur Khamis Abdullah Abakr was executed on Wednesday after being abducted by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in El Geneina. Abakr is Masalit, one of the three ethnic groups principally targeted in the Darfur genocide that began in 2003. The group again are the target of systematic violence.

Abakr’s political party, the Sudanese Coalition, issued a statement saying it holds the RSF responsible for the murder. They also said that Abakr’s personal bodyguard witnessed the arrest, which was carried out by the RSF.
