Fighting renews in the North Darfur capital

A cautious calm in the city of al-Fasher was broken Saturday when the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) clashed with the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF), resulting in several civilians deaths, at least 48 injuries, and an unknown number of deaths among the combatants.
The fighting erupted in the vicinity of Abu Shouk (Naivasha) Camp, before spreading east into the wadi area and northern parts of the city, according to multiple sources.
“I was an eyewitness to the clashes today,” said a Darfur journalist who was visiting family at Naivasha Camp when the clashes erupted. “Both sides in this absurd war used all kinds of weapons. Thank God I reached home before the clashes intensified.”
