Justice and Equality Movement troops arrive in Omdurman
Former Darfur rebels plan on joining the fight against RSF
A delegation from the Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) arrived in the Wadi Saidna military area in Omdurman on Thursday, along with other leaders from the other Juba Peace movements, and met with the army leaders, including Assistant Commander-in-Chief Lieutenant General Yasser Al-Atta.
This appears to be one of the first practical steps taken by JEM to assist the Sudan Armed Forces militarily since a wing of the movement renounced its neutrality in November.
The development coincides with political efforts by Sudan’s military junta to mobilize ex-rebel groups toward the frontlines, including elements of JEM and the Sudan Liberation Movement factions, and SPLA-North (Malik Agar), which is mobilizing toward the Gezira-Sennar frontline.
