The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) yesterday attacked Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) positions in the border area between Khartoum State and River Nile State, following a raid Wednesday toward ad-Douiem in White Nile State. Meanwhile, the North Darfur capital El Fasher was quieter Saturday after a week of continuous fighting.
The Sudanese army is currently building up a massive force in River Nile State, supported by hundreds of combat vehicles belonging to allied armed groups, ahead of a potential invasion of Khartoum Bahri.
Yesterday’s fighting took place in the desert about 30-40 km east of the river. RSF attacked new frontline positions established by troops that had recently arrived from Gedaref and Damazin, according to interviews with prisoners of war filmed by the RSF and reviewed by Sudan War Monitor.
